Dance Camp Co-Directors

Annemiek Gersten

Annemiek Gersten has been a Director or Administrator for Brant Lake Dance Camp over the past 28 years.

"Mieks", as she is known around camp, went to the High School for Performing Arts before graduating from NYU. A youth actor in film and TV, Mieks has been attending summer camps all her life. She is a mother of two (now adult) children and wife of Brant Lake Camp Director Rich Gersten. Her hobbies include jogging, dancing and going to the theater.

Rachel Kerchman

Kerch, as she is affectionately called, has been part of the Brant Lake Camp community each and every summer since 1997. Starting first as a young Brant Lake Dance camper, Kerch has proudly served as a junior counselor, counselor, Head Counselor, Assistant Director and Co-Director of both the Dance Camp and Sports Academy.
Kerch has held a Key Staff position here at Brant Lake for since 2005, and she loves creating fun filled summers for Brant Lakers! Whether she's running the Brant Lake Trivia Game, planning the social, leading the singing at our campfires or simply making the announcements in our Dining Hall, Kerch is a hands on Co-Director, actively earning her place among our group of extraordinary Brant Lake leaders.

Kerch holds a Bachelors degree in mathematics from Bucknell University and a Masters in Education from Johns Hopkins University. She currently teaches high school and middle school math at The Brearley School, an all-girls private school in Manhattan. Before coming to Brearley, Kerch taught High School math at a private school outside of Baltimore for four years where she also served as the Dean of the 10th Grade. Her experiences advising student athletes and student artists have been particularly useful here at Brant Lake Camp!
